QWhats good about unlocking phones?

I have a SGH-A667 Samsung phone(samsung evergreen)

whats the difference between an unlocked non-smartphones and locked ones?

will the workers say anything if i go there to change my phone ?

99.9% are locked to a single carrier. That means it will only accept a sim card from that carrier. Unlocking get's rid of this. Some phones (very rare) come unlocked. The only two I know of are the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus.

Now just because a phone is unlocked doesn't mean it will work on another carrier. You need to look at the carrier's network and then check the specs of the phone. EG T-Mobile uses 1700 (3g) and at&t uses 850 (3g).

Your phone has 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 for 2g and 850/ 1900 (3g).

So your phone isn't able to be on t-mobile if it's unlocked but will on any other carrier with those frequencies.
